Clearing your music for airplay

If you would like to submit your music for consideration, or if I previously contacted you and asked you for permission to play your music, read the permission letter and fill out all form fields accordingly. Click here for frequently asked questions and legal Information.

  • First off, this isn't as scary as it looks. :-)
  • American copyright law requires that I receive your permission to use your sound recordings on the program.
  • All required fields must be completed for proper clearance of your music.
  • This does not affect your performance rights if you are a songwriter or publisher affiliated with BMI. I am a fully licensed brodcast associate with BMI, but not ASCAP.
  • You may submit music by e-mail at davidvesel@gmail.com. Minimum file quality is 44.1 kHz 96 kbps MP3 (128kbps or higher is preferred).
  • I never require a CD to be sent for airplay, but if it is easier for you to post a physical CD to me, you are welcome to do so. My address is:

"I grant permission to David L. Vessell, aka David Vesel, dba Purple Note Radio Network (PNRN), to use my sound recordings, under these conditions:

  
"1. PNRN is granted non-exclusive permission to play the music on any PNRN net radio outlet, including webcasting and podcasting royalty free, for the purposes of distributing PNRN radio shows.
  
"2. Neither PNRN, nor any of its member radio shows, nor any Internet radio outlet PNRN uses, shall provide downloadable MP3 files of the songs themselves. The songs are only to be used in the context of a PNRN radio show, including podcasts.
  
"3. I may revoke this permission at any time and at my discretion, with reasonable notice.
  
"4. Any sound recordings I do not own are not included in this permission, and I will attempt in good faith to inform PNRN which sound recordings are not covered.
  
"5. PNRN shall not be held liable for anything beyond these terms. Any dispute or breach of terms shall render this agreement void, and all permissions granted to PNRN shall be automatically revoked with no further liability.
